My name is Evan, and I’m a designer dedicated to bringing happiness and excitement through my work. Whether it’s through my innovative cardboard robot creations or my passion for creative games like 4-square, I strive to inspire others to embrace their sense of wonder and explore the world around them.
After earning my degree in Graphic Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2003, I began my career at Radical Axis, where I brought to life animated shows and commercials for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. It was an incredible experience to transform wacky ideas into joyful realities that delighted audiences.
In 2008, I founded Miga Me, a creative company that gained recognition for the wildly popular Dog Powered Robot show. This unique performance combines low-tech and high-tech elements, featuring a lovable puppy and imaginative cardboard creations. My creative approach and out-of-the-box thinking led to impactful community projects, including the transformation of an underutilized gallery into the Wonderlab at Give Kids The World Village. This interactive maker space inspires children to explore STEM in a fun and engaging way, contributing to the mission of providing memorable vacations for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
As an Environmental Graphic Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering, I had the opportunity to work on the largest and most ambitious project of my career – Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Serving as the graphics lead and attraction art director, I collaborated with a talented team to create an immersive and innovative experience. This role underscored the importance of strong teamwork and the ability to stay adaptable in the face of challenges. The most rewarding part was witnessing the joy and amazement of guests as they experienced the attraction.
Throughout my career, I have consistently leveraged my skills in exhibit design, environmental graphics, branding, and motion graphics to create experiences that captivate and inspire. I feel incredibly lucky to work in a field that brings so much joy and fulfillment, and I am driven by the opportunity to make a positive impact through design. Every new challenge fuels my passion and commitment to exploring new creative horizons and delivering exceptional results.
